I guess that we all have seen plenty of red and green lately, but I thought that this was the perfect time to set a table with my Lenox "Winter Song" china. I purchased this china on sale at Tuesday morning, after Christmas 2012. I love that you can use it for Christmas, but it is not really Christmas china.
The pattern has a red outer band with a simple pine bough and a few red berries on a white center. I live in the south, so pine trees are everywhere in my world!
Natural pine cones help decorate the centerpiece and tiny gold ones are featured on the napkin rings.
I wanted the table to display some sparkles, so that I could pretend that it was icy outside.
I think the crystal stems definitely add to the chilly feeling that I wanted to achieve.
The place setting contains both elements. You might remember the antler flatware from my Thanksgiving post - I ordered it directly from Cambridge Silversmiths and, when it arrived, it was in a Bass Pro Shop box. I guess I need to go and check out the rest of their tableware!
Crystal votive holders were placed into the garland. I bought these years ago at a Mikasa outlet store. Oh, how I miss all of the china outlet stores that have closed. We still have one Lenox outlet store in Georgia, but it is nothing like the old ones were - they were china heaven and my daughter and I were able to score so many bargains at those!!
What would a "Winter Song" table be without a couple of winter birds who could sing a song for us? These two came from Michael's.
I had fun creating this table - do you find that you enjoy some more than others? I do love the contrast of this crystal wine glass against the rustic background of vines and berries.
I guess it is time to put away the red and green, but don't be surprised, if I find another way to use it some future posts, before next Christmas - lol!
